Rich Vazzana has held multiple positions in a series of careers.
After graduating from college as Mathematics major, Rich taught
school at both the secondary and college level. While working on his Phd he joined IBM in the sales division and held a 30-year career in various sales executive positions. The latest was starting a new business in Customer Relationship Management Outsourcing that grew to a $2.5B business in two years. Rich retired from IBM and was named a SR VP, reporting to the CEO of Novell. While at Novell, Rich built and managed the world wide Tele-Web, sales organization.
He has latter retired and started a successful consulting business, working with large companies in structuring marketing and sales organizations.
Currently Rich is involved as a Board Director in multiple non-profits in Ridgefield as well as corporate boards. For the non-profit organizations, Rich has been the chair of many successful events in Ridgefield that are town wide. He has established the organization, marketing planning, and execution for Fall for Ridgefield, Taste of Ridgefield, The Annual Antique Fair at the Ridgefield Community Center, and Marketing for Keeler Tavern Museum. He was Vice Chair of the Ridgefield Charter Revision Commission. He is Past President of Rotary Club of Ridgefield and Lounsbury House, Ridgefield Community Center. Currently he is on the Board of Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra and Assistant District Governor for Rotary Southern CT.

The 2017 Citizen of the Year Dinner was held on Wednesday, June 14, at 6pm at the Silver Spring Country Club. The Rotary Club of Ridgefield’s 2017 Citizen of the Year was Allison Stockel. In recognition of many years of service to the Ridgefield Community as One Who Exemplifies The Rotary Motto “Service Above Self”
